Dave was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His early achievements in National History Day, including multiple state titles and a nationally ranked finish, cultivated his passion for research and its relevance to current strategies. Additionally, Dave’s commitment to civic responsibility is reflected in his background as an Eagle Scout, which continues to serve as a foundational reminder of the importance of balance.
His parents shaped his core values. His mother, known as “The Ms.,” emphasized intellectual honesty and enthusiasm for life. His father instilled the importance of humility and patience, lessons Dave continues to develop.
Dave graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Financial Economics. Following graduation, he began his professional career in 2006 at a hedge fund in Manhattan, working as a Proprietary Equity and Derivatives Trader. His passion for nature later led him to return home, where he chose to apply the lessons learned to Investment Management.
His formative background fostered an enduring commitment to learning, especially in behavioral economics and decision-making. These principles shape his client approach, helping him tackle challenges logically while recognizing biases. Dave continually uses this core framework to improve his clients’ experience. He aims to develop tailored strategies for clients, utilizing an often-unique perspective to deliver innovative and original solutions, while consistently working to communicate complex concepts as actionable recommendations.
Outside the office, Dave has served on the boards of the Kingston Rotary Club, the WVW Educational Foundation, The LCCC Foundation, and The Luzerne County Historical Society. While he remains active within the community, he and his wife Jill dedicate more time to engaging in the world with their oldest son Jackson, appeasing their middle daughter Morgan, and trying to corral their youngest son, Michael. Together the kids enjoy their favorite combined pastime of avoiding life lessons from Dad.
To relax he enjoys the Martial Arts, Sporting Clays, and Cold War history, all of which focus on real time decision making with imperfect information.
